About this place
The moment the bowl arrives at the counter, a clear aroma of dashi drifts upward to match the meticulous presentation. Located in the Kotobuki neighborhood of Taito Ward, Men Mitsuwi provides a calm, understated space where guests can savor each bowl without distraction.
The signature shoyu and shio varieties feature an elegant, clean broth garnished with tender chashu pork, menma bamboo shoots, and a distinctive slice of lotus root. Diners can choose between thin noodles and medium-thick hand-kneaded noodles, whose irregular, wavy curls provide a springy chew and an easy glide that carries the full savory character of the soup. For an accent of refreshing heat, the ginger-infused shoga soba also commands a loyal following.
The side menu features a katsudon glazed in homemade sauce over Fukui-grown Koshihikari rice, a chashu rice bowl offered in limited quantities each day, and chilled oroshi soba with grated daikon radish, making it easy to tailor a meal to any appetite.
Arranged primarily with counter seating, the interior has an easygoing tempo well suited to solo dining. During busier periods, a ticketing machine outside issues numbered slips for queue management, leaving visitors free to stroll the quiet nearby streets while awaiting their turn.
